Sidetracked: When Delays Do Not Diminish God's Power to Deliver
Drawing from the account of Jairus and the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5, Bishop Gunter addresses the danger of allowing life's interruptions and delays to erode faith. Bishop argues that when God appears to be occupied elsewhere, He has not abandoned His original intention toward the believer. Just as Jesus stopped to heal a woman on His way to Jairus' house, apparent detours in the life of a believer are not signs of divine indifference but opportunities for God to demonstrate that He is no respecter of persons and that no circumstance, not even death, places a boundary on His power. The sermon calls believers to resist the enemy's attempts to use delays, unanswered prayers, and difficult seasons as tools of discouragement, and instead to maintain an expanding, unwavering faith that trusts the sovereignty, faithfulness, and goodness of God regardless of outcome.
