Ready or Not

Scripture

All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. - Acts 2:42–47

Devotional

Revival is not built on performance. It is born in surrender.

The early church was marked by devotion: devotion to the Word, to fellowship, to prayer, to generosity, and to the mission of Jesus. They were not perfect people, but they were available people. They gathered, prayed, gave, served, and carried the gospel into the world.

God still uses surrendered people.

If we want to see lives changed, families restored, communities transformed, and the lost brought home, we must become people of prayer and action. We cannot simply attend church; we must become the church. We carry the presence of Christ into neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, homes, and broken places.

The call is urgent. The mission is clear. The harvest is real.

Ready or not, Jesus is calling His people to wake up, pray, love, go, and live unfiltered lives before a watching world.

Reflection

  • What would it look like for you to live more devoted to prayer, Scripture, and mission?
  • Who in your life needs to experience the love of Jesus through you?
  • Pray for revival to begin in you first. Then ask God where He wants to send you.
