Be Doers, Not Pretenders

Scripture

Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. - 2 Timothy 4:2 NLT

Devotional

Faith is not meant to be camouflage. It is not something we put on to blend into religious environments. True faith becomes visible in how we live, love, repent, forgive, serve, and speak.

The world does not need a polished performance from believers. It needs people who are genuinely changed by Jesus.

That means we must love the Word enough to obey it. We must be willing to be corrected by it. We must receive both the comfort and the confrontation of Scripture.

Being a doer of the Word requires courage. It means we cannot simply hear sermons, quote verses, or agree with truth. We must live it when it costs us something.

Real Christianity is not pretending everything is fine. It is bringing everything under the lordship of Jesus.

Reflection

  • Where are you hearing the Word but not obeying it?
  • Is there an area of your life where you have been wearing “Christian camouflage”?
  • Choose one act of obedience today and follow through.
