Follow Fully
Scripture
For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. — Mark 8:35 NIV
Devotional
The life you cling to can become the life that keeps you bound.
Jesus invites us to lose our lives for His sake—not because He wants to take from us, but because He wants to give us true life. What we surrender to Him is never wasted. He is able to multiply what we place in His hands.
The rich young ruler walked away grieving because he had great possessions. He wanted eternal life, but he also wanted to keep control. That is the tension every disciple must face: Will I trust Jesus enough to let go?
Following fully means Jesus gets the first word and the final word. It means we stop chasing the dangling carrots of this world and return to the One who satisfies the soul. It means we live with devotion, not distraction. Surrender, not compromise. Faith, not fear.
Jesus is not looking for half-hearted followers. He is calling for disciples who will follow Him fully.
