Delays Are Not Denials
Scripture
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. - Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT
Devotional
As Jesus walked with Jairus, the journey was interrupted. A woman who had suffered for twelve years touched the hem of His garment and was healed. Jesus stopped.
For Jairus, that pause may have felt unbearable. His daughter was dying. Time mattered. Every second counted. Yet Jesus stopped to speak to someone else.
Sometimes the hardest part of faith is watching God move for others while you are still waiting. Someone else gets healed. Someone else receives the breakthrough. Someone else’s prayer seems answered quickly, while yours appears delayed.
But a delay is not a denial.
God’s timing is not careless. His pauses are not proof that He has forgotten you. What feels like an interruption may be part of a greater work you cannot yet see.
Jesus was not ignoring Jairus when He healed the woman. He was revealing something about Himself: He has enough power for every need. Her miracle did not reduce His ability to perform another one.
God is not running out of mercy. He is not limited in strength. If He is working in someone else’s life, let it remind you that He is still able to work in yours.
Reflection
Have you ever struggled while watching someone else receive what you are still praying for?
What would change if you saw their miracle as encouragement instead of discouragement?
Ask God to strengthen your trust in His timing.
