An Authentic Encounter

Scripture

Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.”
— John 4:26 NIV

Devotional

The woman at the well came for ordinary water, but she encountered the Savior. Jesus met her in a familiar place, in the middle of her routine, and spoke directly to the deepest parts of her life.

He did not avoid her brokenness. He did not pretend her sin was not real. But neither did He reject her. He revealed truth and offered living water. That is what an authentic encounter with Jesus does: it exposes and restores at the same time.

The woman arrived carrying a water jar and a complicated past. She left with a testimony. What once defined her became the very place where Jesus revealed Himself. Her shame was no longer the end of her story.

Jesus still meets people at wells today—in ordinary places, lonely places, painful places, and places of need. He knows your patterns, your history, your thirst, and your hiding places. And He offers more than temporary relief. He offers living water.

Reflection

Where do you need Jesus to meet you honestly and personally?
Are you willing to let Him speak truth into areas you would rather hide?
Pray: “Jesus, meet me at the well. Give me living water that satisfies my soul.”
