The Fire of Personal Revival
Scripture
Won’t you revive us again, so your people can rejoice in you?
— Psalm 85:6 NLT
Devotional
Revival is not only a public event; it is a personal awakening. Before a church, family, or community experiences renewal, individual hearts must be stirred again.
Personal revival begins when we realize something within us has grown quiet. Maybe prayer has become rare. Maybe worship has become routine. Maybe Scripture has become neglected. Maybe passion has cooled into memory. The good news is that God does not despise a smoldering wick. He can breathe fresh fire into what feels almost extinguished.
Revival is not manufactured by emotion. It is cultivated through surrender, prayer, repentance, hunger, worship, and the Word of God. It begins when we stop asking God to change everyone else first and start praying, “Lord, revive me.”
A revived heart becomes a flame. And one flame can help ignite another.
Reflection
Where has your spiritual life grown quiet or cold?
What practice do you need to return to: prayer, Scripture, worship, fasting, obedience, community?
Pray: “Lord, revive me again. Awaken hunger in me for Your presence.”
