Power to Be a Witness

Scripture

"but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth.” - Acts 1:8 NASB

Devotional

The power of the Holy Spirit is not given merely for personal experience. It is given for mission.

Jesus said His followers would receive power to be witnesses. A witness is someone who tells what they have seen and heard. You do not have to know everything to be a witness. You simply testify to what Jesus has done in your life. Your workplace, school, family, neighborhood, and community are mission fields. Your story matters. Your changed life speaks. Your compassion opens doors. Your boldness can point someone toward salvation.

The Spirit empowers us not to hate the world but to love the world with the love of Christ. We are called to carry truth with compassion, courage with humility, and conviction with grace.

The question is not whether God can use you. The question is whether you are willing to be available.

Reflection

Who in your life needs to hear about Jesus?
How has God changed you in a way that could encourage someone else?
Pray today: “Holy Spirit, give me boldness and love to be a witness for Jesus.”
