Letting Go to Receive More
Scripture
When you came to Christ, you were “circumcised,” but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision—the cutting away of your sinful nature. - Colossians 2:11 NLT
Devotional
There are things God wants to cut away from our lives—not to harm us, but to free us. Some things may not appear outwardly sinful, but they may still hold us back. They may weaken our witness, dull our hunger, distract our hearts, or keep us from experiencing the fullness of God’s presence.
The Holy Spirit does not fill a life that refuses surrender. If our hands are full of the world, we cannot fully receive what God is offering. Surrender makes room for filling.
Sanctification is the ongoing work of God making us more like Christ. It is not simply about avoiding wrong; it is about being set apart for God’s purpose. A holy life is not a lesser life. It is a freer life, a stronger life, a Spirit-filled life.
God is asking: What are you willing to release so you can receive more of Me?
Reflection
What is holding you back spiritually?
Is there anything in your life that weakens your witness for Christ?
Pray today: “Jesus, cut away anything in me that keeps me from fully belonging to You.”
