Filled with the Spirit
Scripture
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. - Acts 2:4 NKJV
Devotional
The believers in the upper room were not merely inspired; they were filled.
To be filled with the Holy Spirit means to be surrendered, empowered, and saturated with the presence of God. It is not about religious performance. It is not about emotional excitement alone. It is about receiving the power of God to live as witnesses of Jesus Christ.
The Holy Spirit fills ordinary people and enables them to do what they could not do in their own strength. Fearful disciples became bold witnesses. Confused followers became Spirit-led messengers. A small gathering became the beginning of a global movement.
God does not call us to live the Christian life by human strength alone. He gives us His Spirit so we can walk in holiness, courage, compassion, and power.
Do not settle for a half-filled life. God has more.
Reflection
Are you trying to follow Jesus in your own strength?
Where do you need the power of the Holy Spirit today?
Pray today: “Lord, fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I surrender every part of myself to You.”
