The Wind of Change
Scripture
And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. - Acts 2:2 ESV
Devotional
The Holy Spirit came like a rushing wind. Wind often signals change. Seasons shift when the wind begins to blow. In the same way, the Spirit of God moves in our lives to bring change, renewal, conviction, and power.
But change can be uncomfortable. We like familiar rhythms. We settle into what we know. Yet God loves us too much to leave us unchanged. His Spirit may disrupt our comfort in order to awaken our calling.
The wind of God does not come to destroy what belongs to Him. It comes to remove what does not belong, to breathe life into dry places, and to empower us for what we could never do on our own.
If you are in a storm, do not assume the wind is only against you. Sometimes the wind is carrying in something new. Sometimes God uses the shaking to prepare you for the filling.
Reflection
What change might the Holy Spirit be bringing into your life right now?
Are you resisting God’s movement because it feels unfamiliar?
Pray today: “Spirit of God, let Your wind blow in me. Change what needs to change.”
