Chosen for a Purpose

Scripture

But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel. And I will show him how much he must suffer for my name’s sake.” - Acts 9:15-16 NLT

Devotional

God does not choose people because they are perfect. He chooses people because He has a purpose for them.

When Saul was blinded on the road to Damascus, many only knew him by his past. He had persecuted believers, caused fear, and opposed the work of Christ. Yet God saw something more. God saw Paul, the chosen vessel. God saw the missionary, the apostle, the preacher, the writer, and the servant.

Sometimes we ask, “Who am I?” Who am I to be loved? Who am I to be forgiven? Who am I to be used by God?

The answer is not found in your past failures but in God’s calling. You are chosen by grace. You are called for purpose. You are not disqualified because of where you have been. In Christ, you are being prepared for where He is sending you.

God is still assembling people for His kingdom work—ordinary people filled with extraordinary power.
