Hold On to the Sword

Scripture

“Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” — Ephesians 6:17 NLT

Devotional

God has not left us defenseless. He has given us the sword of the Spirit—the Word of God. In seasons of battle, Scripture is not optional equipment. It is essential.

When fear rises, hold on to the Word. When temptation comes, hold on to the Word. When the enemy lies, answer with the Word. When you feel alone, weary, or shaken, let God’s truth become firmly fixed in your heart and mind.

A sword does no good if it is left untouched. We must know the Word, believe the Word, speak the Word, and live the Word. The storm may rage, but God’s Word remains.

Victory is not found in pretending there is no battle. Victory is found in standing firm with what God has placed in your hands.
