Stay on the Boat
Scripture
“But Paul said to the commanding officer and the soldiers, 'You will all die unless the sailors stay aboard.'” — Acts 27:31
Devotional
In Acts 27, Paul was caught in a violent storm at sea. The ship was being battered, hope was fading, and some wanted to escape. But Paul gave a clear instruction: stay on the ship.
Storms tempt us to run. We may want to isolate, quit, abandon community, leave our calling, or make desperate decisions out of fear. But sometimes the safest place is the very place that feels shaken.
God often preserves us through obedience, community, and endurance. Staying does not mean pretending the storm is easy. It means trusting that God can keep you even when the ship is rocking.
Do not jump overboard just because the waters are rough. Stay anchored in Christ. Stay connected to godly people. Stay in prayer. Stay in the Word. Stay where God told you to stay.
Reflection
Where are you tempted to quit or run because of pressure?
Who has God placed in your life to help you endure the storm?
What would faithfulness look like for you today?
