Think on These Things

Scripture

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” - Philippians 4:8 NASB

Devotion

Dr. Tatum closed by pointing us toward disciplined thinking. A sound mind does not allow fear, bitterness, and confusion to dominate. Instead, it chooses to dwell on what is true, pure, lovely, and praiseworthy.

What we think about matters. If we constantly focus on fear, conflict, and trouble, our hearts become heavy. But when we fix our minds on Christ and the things that please Him, peace begins to rule within us. God has given us a sound mind, and part of walking in that gift is choosing what we allow to remain in our thoughts.
