Hearing God in the Thick of It

Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!”“Here I am,” he replied. Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” - Genesis 22:1-2 NIV
Devotion
Pastor Darren asked a powerful question: “In the thick of your life, can you still hear the voice of the Lord?”
Abraham was not given an easy instruction. God’s command touched the deepest part of his heart—his son, his promise, his future. Yet Abraham heard God clearly enough to respond.
Many of us can hear God when life is calm. But when pressure rises, when family drama increases, when hurt piles up, when confusion clouds our mind, hearing becomes harder.
The thicket is not just a physical place. Pastor Darren described it as a confusing collection of events that makes life hard to walk through, see through, and pray through. But even in the thick of it, God still speaks.
The challenge is not whether God is speaking. The challenge is whether we are still listening.
