Jesus Helps Carry the Weight
Scripture
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 NIV
Devotion
Jesus knows the weight of the cross. He carried His cross after being beaten, mocked, wounded, and rejected. In His humanity, He experienced pain, exhaustion, and suffering.
Pastor Darren reminded us that even Jesus received help carrying the cross when Simon of Cyrene was compelled to carry it with Him. That image points us to a beautiful truth: when the burden becomes too heavy, Jesus is present with us in the weight.
You may feel like you have no strength left. You may feel like the road is too long and the burden is too much. But Jesus does not stand far away and watch you struggle. He invites you to come to Him.
He gives rest. He gives grace. He gives strength. He gives endurance. He gives peace when the waves are crashing.
You are not alone under the weight.
Reflection
What burden do you need to bring to Jesus today?
Spend a few moments in prayer, imagining yourself handing that weight to Him.
