Return With Your Whole Heart

Scripture

“Yet even now,” declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning” — Joel 2:12 ESV

Devotion

Pastor Darren called us back to the simple but powerful truth of returning to God with our whole heart. Not part of our heart. Not a Sunday-only heart. Not a heart divided between God and the world. A whole heart.

A personal relationship with Jesus is cultivated over time. Like any meaningful relationship, it requires attention, honesty, communication, and commitment. We return to Him by prayer, repentance, obedience, worship, and time in His Word.

God is not looking for performance. He is looking for surrender. He does not ask us to clean ourselves up before coming to Him. He asks us to come fully, honestly, and humbly.
When we hear Him knocking, we must open the door.

Reflection

  • Have I given Jesus full access to my heart?
  • What have I been holding back from Him?
  • Spend time today praying: “Lord, I return to You with my whole heart.”
