Busyness Is Not Relationship
Scripture
“But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, 'Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.' And Jesus answered and said to her, 'Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.'” — Luke 10:40-42 NKJV
Devotion
Pastor Darren warned that busyness does not equal relationship. It is possible to be busy with church, ministry, work, family schedules, and responsibilities while slowly drifting away from intimacy with Jesus.
Martha was not doing something evil. She was serving. But even good things can become distractions when they pull us away from sitting at the feet of Jesus.
We can work for God and still neglect time with God. We can serve in His name and still miss His presence. Jesus is not simply looking for activity. He is looking for relationship.
The one thing that matters most is being near Him.

Reflection
- Am I too busy doing things for God to spend time with God?
- What distractions are competing for my attention and affection?
- What is one practical way I can sit at Jesus’ feet today?
