Stop Hiding

Scripture

“And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.” — Genesis 3:8 NKJV

Devotion

Adam and Eve knew God. They knew His voice, His presence, and His footsteps in the garden. Yet after sin entered, they hid from Him. Pastor Darren reminded us that many still do the same today.

We may recognize when God is moving. We may feel conviction. We may sense His Spirit calling us deeper. But instead of running toward Him, we retreat into shame, fear, or excuses.
The enemy wants shame to drive us away from God. But conviction is meant to draw us back to Him. When the presence of God begins to move, we do not need to hide. We need to surrender.

God is not calling us out to destroy us. He is calling us out to restore us.

Reflection

  • Where have I been hiding from God?
  • Is there sin, shame, fear, or disappointment I need to bring into the light?
  • Pray honestly today: “Lord, I will not hide from You. I come before You fully.”
