More Than Knowing His Name
Scripture
“Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. ” — Matthew 7:21 NLT
Devotion
Pastor Darren spoke about the danger of simply knowing the name of Jesus without truly knowing Jesus Himself. Many people are comfortable saying His name, talking about Him, or even becoming emotional when He is mentioned. But knowing His name is not the same as having a relationship with Him.
Jesus warned that there would be people who call Him “Lord” but do not actually belong to Him. That is a sobering truth. Christianity is not name-dropping Jesus when it is convenient. It is surrendering our lives to Him daily.
A real relationship with Christ goes beyond words. It changes our priorities, our choices, our attitudes, and our obedience. If He is truly Lord, then He must have authority over our lives.

Reflection
- Do I know about Jesus, or do I truly know Him personally?
- Does my life reflect obedience to the Father’s will?
- What is one area where I need to move from words to surrender?
