Trouble Is Real, But Jesus Has Overcome

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33,ESV
Devotion
Pastor Darren pointed us to the truth that life will include trials, sorrows, and problems. Following Jesus does not mean we avoid every hardship. It means we do not face hardship alone, and we do not face it without hope.
Jesus did not say, “You might have trouble.” He said, “You will have tribulation.” But He also gave us the answer before the trouble ever came: “I have overcome the world.”
That means your problem is not bigger than your Savior. Your sorrow is not stronger than His victory. Your past is not more powerful than His blood. The presence of trouble does not mean the absence of God.
Peace is not found in pretending life is easy. Peace is found in knowing Jesus has already overcome what is trying to overcome you.
