Never Forget the Blood

Scripture

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our wrongdoings, according to the riches of His grace.” — Ephesians 1:7 NASB

Devotion

Pastor Darren opened with a cry that the church would never forget the blood of Jesus. Everything we are, everything we have, and every bit of freedom we walk in is because Jesus willingly went to Calvary. He was humiliated, crucified, and poured out His life so we could be redeemed.

It is easy to become familiar with church, worship, ministry, and routine. But we must never become so familiar that we forget the cost of our salvation. The blood of Jesus is not just a song we sing; it is the reason we are no longer lost, bound, and wandering in darkness.

The church that remembers the blood stays humble. The believer who remembers the blood stays grateful. The body that remembers the blood keeps Jesus at the center.

Reflection

Have I allowed myself to become too casual with the sacrifice of Jesus?
Take time today to thank Him specifically for the freedom, forgiveness, and redemption His blood has provided.
