The People Had a Mind to Work
Scripture
“At last the wall was completed to half its height around the entire city, for the people had worked with enthusiasm.” — Nehemiah 4:6 NLT
Devotion
The wall was not rebuilt by one gifted person. It was rebuilt by a willing people. Pastor Darren emphasized that everyone had a place on the wall: priests, perfume makers, goldsmiths, farmers, leaders, families, and workers of all kinds.
The kingdom is built when the body comes together. Some may serve up front, others in the background. Some may teach, park cars, run words, hold babies, prepare food, pray, disciple, clean, encourage, or simply show up faithfully. But every place matters.
The enemy loves to convince people that their part is too small to count. But in Nehemiah’s day, every section of the wall mattered. A gap anywhere was a weakness everywhere.
God is not asking everyone to do everything. He is asking each person to take their place.
