Pray Before You Build

“When I heard this, I sat down and wept. In fact, for days I mourned, fasted, and prayed to the God of heaven.” — Nehemiah 1:4 NLT
Devotion
Nehemiah did not rush into action without first going to God. He wept. He fasted. He prayed. He allowed the burden to drive him into the presence of the Lord.
Pastor Darren reminded us that Nehemiah was prayed up in chapter 1 before the opposition showed up in chapter 4. That matters. If we wait until the battle begins to build our prayer life, we may find ourselves spiritually unprepared.
Prayer is not wasted time. Prayer is preparation. Prayer aligns our hearts with God’s will. Prayer gives us courage before we ever pick up tools.
Before you build your family, your ministry, your calling, your marriage, your future, or your obedience—pray.
