You Are Not Your Past: A Masterpiece in Progress

Pastor Darren spent time declaring identity over the congregation:
Ephesians 2:10 calls you God’s workmanship—His masterpiece. A masterpiece isn’t a quick sketch; it’s a work of intention, patience, and skill. It often involves chiseling away pieces that don’t belong and laying down brushstrokes you don’t understand yet.
Pastor Darren compared the church to an art gallery full of masterpieces—sculpted, chipped, brushed, and fashioned by the hand of God. People pay millions of dollars for artwork that can’t breathe or think. Yet we overlook the priceless value of a redeemed human life, including our own.
You may still “house the skin of yesterday,” as Pastor Darren said, but in Christ you are new. God is not done with you. He is not ashamed of you. He is shaping you.
Your past does not disqualify you; it’s the backdrop against which His grace shines brighter.

2. Beside each label, write a truth from Ephesians 2:10 and this devotion (masterpiece, workmanship, son/daughter, restoration story).
3. Pray: “Lord, help me see myself as You see me. I renounce the old labels and receive Your name over my life.”
