Becoming a Lifelong Seeker
Scripture
Jeremiah 29:13 (ESV) “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.”
Devotion
Throughout the sermon, one theme kept coming back: be a seeker. Not a seasonal seeker. Not a “crisis-only” seeker. A lifelong seeker.
Jeremiah 29:13 is a promise: when you seek God with all your heart, you will find Him. Not might. Not if you’re gifted enough, holy enough, or experienced enough. If you bring your whole heart—your doubts, your wounds, your failures, your hunger—He will meet you.
Pastor Darren walked the sanctuary, praying over seats, doors, microphones, and names, asking God to stir up hunger—that nothing would fill the void but the Word and relationship with Him. That is the heart of a lifelong seeker: never satisfied with yesterday, always asking, “What’s next, Lord? Do more in me. Do more through me.”
Being a lifelong seeker will cost you comfort, reputation, time, and sometimes relationships. But it will give you what nothing else can: a growing, burning, transforming relationship with the living God.
This week’s devotional has been about moving from wandering to seeking, from spectatorship to participation, from “just enough Jesus” to “all of You, Lord.” Today, you can decide: “However long I live, I will be a seeker of Jesus.”
Reflection
Prayer
Father,
I don’t want to be a part-time believer or a seasonal seeker. I want to seek You with all my heart—for the rest of my life. Thank You for Your promise that when I do, I will find You. Today I recommit myself to You. Rekindle the fire in me. Let nothing else satisfy me like Your presence. Show me the steps I need to take, and give me grace to walk them out.
Make me, by Your Spirit, a lifelong seeker of Jesus.
In Jesus' mighty name I pray, Amen.

Reflection
- What would it look like, practically, to seek God “with all your heart” in this season of your life?
- What specific changes do you sense the Holy Spirit asking you to make after this week (habits, time, media, relationships, service)?
- What is one concrete step you will take today to mark a new beginning as a lifelong seeker?
